We briefly spoke to Paola the Instagram wine influencer @paoypavon. Checkout her full travels on her gram.
What was your “aha!” moment when it comes to Travel and experiencing life on the go?
PP: When I was young, I took a few trips to the south of Argentina (Patagonia). It was there that I realized how much I love traveling and all the sights, sounds, experiences associated with it.
At what point did you realize you wanted to document your travels on Instagram? Is there a reason you went with Instagram over any other social media platform? What made you want to take up the nomadic lifestyle?
PP: A lot of my friends here don’t have the opportunity to travel so when I was able to, I wanted to document the places I went so they could experience it (in a way) too! Most of my friends were on Instagram so that’s where I like to post. The emphasis on photos in IG also make it a perfect match for a travel content. I wouldn’t say I live a nomadic lifestyle since I prefer to have my home base in Argentina, but I do love taking (long) trips abroad.
For brands that want to reach out and work with you, what do you wish they knew about you and your ethics?
PP: I put originality and creativity into the content I create, and I do my best to represent the brand and share it with my fans.
What have been some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced while traveling?
PP: Overweight luggage lol. I always try to bring back some (or a lot) wines from the places I visit and those tend to make the luggage heavy. Plus, a girl needs options for the clothes 😀 I’ve paid my fair share of overweight baggage fees.
How often are you creating content? Do you have any tips on content creation?
PP: When I’m at I post a few times per week. When I’m traveling its every day since I love to share the things we’re doing with my friends. My tips are consistent! And always try to add some educational stuff too. Lots of my friends have told me they feel like they’re there when I post travel content because I capture the experience well.
They say you are what you eat, what are you?
PP: I’m a Rigatoni Carbonara
What do you think is unique about your audience and the way that you engage with them?
PP: My audience is very curious. They always want to know more about the different places I go or the wines that I try. I do my best to provide them with a lot of education about those things in the content that I create.
What’s the most extreme thing you’ve done to get a photo?
PP: Wake up at 5am in Cappidoccia to get a sunrise photo with the hot air balloons. I’m not a morning person at all so this was so hard for me.
If you could go back in time and visit any city or country in another time, when and where would you go?
PP: Greece during 400BC. I would love to experience the Parthenon and all the other temples in their full glory.
In closing, what advice would you give someone trying to build their own brand online? Also, what advice would you give someone who is considering traveling for an extended period of time?
PP: Be consistent and have fun. It will be slow at first but if you’re enjoying the process, it’s so much fun.
