The George Dickel Hand Selected Barrel Whiskey is a product of the brand’s private barrel program, this one is their 9-year whiskey. Double-distilled and charcoal mellowed, this Tennessee whiskey is bottled from a single cask following maturation. It’s bottled at 51.5% ABV, which makes it 103Proof.
Born 40 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, George A. Dickel was an established Nashville merchant. In 1867, he visited Tullahoma with his wife, Augusta. Three years later, Cascade Hollow would be home to the Dickel Distillery.

Nose: Honey caramel, vanilla and cereal with floral citrus are at the top of the nose. Swirling the bourbon around the glass opens up other notes, toasted wood, dry oak, and leather. Toffee and tobacco are also present but a lot lighter.
Palate: Pretty spicy at 103 proof, a drop of water mellows out the dram quite nicely. Cinnamon, orange zest, tobacco and honeyed vanilla linger on the tip of the tongue. Spices and Wood also leave a lingering sensation on the back of the palate.
Finish: Medium and bold, nice spice that slowly turns into velvety sweetness. Caramel pineapples and peach citrus lingers around for 1-2 minutes. Finishes quite nice.
