Launched in November 2014 at an immersive event themed around the George Orwell novel “Nineteen Eighty-Four” – as it is well-known that the author escaped to the island of Jura to write his dystopian vision of the future.
Matured in a combination of American white oak, Amoroso and Apostoles Oloroso sherry barrels and bottled non-chill-filtered. Only 1,984 bottles are available worldwide. The bottle retails from $900+, if you’re lucky to find one.
As any night at our favorite bar, I like to kick things off with the best dram of the night. I’ve been eyeing this one for sometime now, and decided to pull the trigger by getting a 1oz dram for my girlfriend who got me into Scotch in the first place.
