The Deveron is the new name for official bottlings of whisky from Macduff and was christened when the brand relaunched in 2015. An exceptional Highland single malt whisky from Macduff Distillery. This 18 year old expression has been bottled at 40%abv. Not a big fan of low ABV spirits, but this one had something about it that just stood out. Personally I am a cask strength man, but I cannot deny this dram from others.

Region: Highland, Scotland
Nose: The nose has hints of this oily smog wood, with creamy vanilla and light smoke. Toffee and cocoa fudge with pepper and apples, are also present on the nose. Light and faint but strong enough to keep you interested.
Palate: Tobacco and dry leather, wood and cinnamon spices with pears and toffee. It’s a very creamy dram and has a nice light smokey flavor to it as well.
Finish: Short to medium finish, dry with pepper and flakes of apples. The finish is probably the most disappointing part of the dram.
